Case Study

'Artist 1' was addicted to a variety of drugs for 23 years and as a result was often a rough sleeper. Whilst in prison on drug related charges he started painting. On release he went into rehab and got in touch with Creative Future. Recognising his talent, we put him on our mentoring programme, exhibited him in three exhibitions and entered him into a prestigious competition in which he was one of the prizewinners.  'Artist 1' has volunteered over 10 hours for Creative Future and has enrolled onto an Foundation course in Art and Design. He also won third prize in another competition – voted for by 1,234 people.  'Artist 1' has been published in the Creative Future anthology and The Big Issue.  In his own words, “I never thought this would be possible but by being pushed in the right direction by Creative Future, I’m now heading towards fulfilling a dream.”
